European commissioner to visit Armenia

Moscow views Armenia's statements about transferring the South Caucasus Railway concession to Russia as blackmail by Western capitals, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.

On Wednesday, Armenian Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Kristine Ghalechyan and a delegation led by Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgolami discussed the initiative to build a second bridge across the Araks River on the Armenian-Iranian border.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia has opened a public criminal investigation against the current and former directors of several companies it associates with Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharyan, on charges of large-scale tax evasion.

Representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan discussed the possibility of importing and exporting electricity between the two countries, according to the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, has been charged, RA Public Television reports, citing the Anti-Corruption Committee.
