YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. Prosperous Armenia party (PAP) will vote against the government program, PAP faction deputy Stepan Margaryan said at a parliament sitting Thursday.

“The Prosperous Armenia cannot bear responsibility for this program and will be voting against it”, he said.

The parliament member criticized the document for inactive approach to regional cooperation in particular.

The deputy said the document does not envisage certain dates for construction of Iran-Armenia railroad.

The new cabinet was formed on May 8, after the February 18 presidential elections in Armenia. The new cabinet program was submitted for parliament approval on May 20.

The program consists of five key components: secure and safe Armenia, fairly paid new jobs, free and fair Armenia, human capital and institutional development. It retained all targets of the old one, i.e.
economic growth, doubled minimum wages, poverty reduction by 8-10%, 100,000 new jobs, pension increases and increased proportion of taxes in GDP.
Prosperous Armenia, a moderate centrist liberal-leaning party, was established in April 2004 by tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan, parliament deputy, Head of National Olympic Committee of Armenia, president of Multi Group concern. After the February 18 presidential elections Prosperous Armenia refused to join the coalition. –0--
