France to continue supporting Armenia in promoting European agenda
YEREVAN, October 2. /ARKA/. France, being a friendly country to Armenia and one of the leading EU countries and international actors, will continue assisting Armenia in promotion of the European agenda, French president Francois Ollande said at his meeting with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan.

The counterparts agreed maximum efforts should be made to maintain rates and level of the current cooperation and to continue reforms in Armenia, the press office of Armenian president reported. Armenia’s Sargsyan confirmed the commitments his country undertook in this context.

Sargsyan said Armenia-France relations based on close historic ties have peaked now.

Armenia’s president also thanked his French colleague for France’s contribution to recognition of Armenian genocide and long-year efforts to settle the Karabakh conflict.

The two countries’ leaders stressed once again they see no alternative to the peace process in the framework of OSCE Minsk Group. Sargsyan said Armenia attaches particular importance to Ollande’s personal involvement in the process.

The counterparts said they are happy with the level of inter-parliament cooperation. Armenia has been a full member of the International Organization of the Francophonie for a year now.

To ensure lasting high-level dialogue between the two nations Serzh Sargsyan once again confirmed his invitation to François Ollande to come to Armenia with a state visit.–0--
