YEREVAN, February 21. / ARKA /. President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his re-election as president of Armenia, Sargsyan’s press office said. Ahmadinejad expressed hope that during Sargsyan’s second presidency Armenia's development process will continue with greater speed.

"Stressing the willingness to expand friendly relations between Armenia and Iran, I ask God to give you good health and success and welfare and glory to the people of Armenia," he said in the statement.

According to preliminary data, incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan won reelection with 58.64% of the vote. Raffi Hovannisian, head of Heritage party, received 36.74%. -0-
