YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. By a vote of 102 to one Lilit Tadevosyan was elected today by the parliament of Armenia as President of the Court of Cassation.

During her speech at the National Assembly, Lilit Tadevosyan stressed the importance of being impartial, making correct and balanced decisions.

She put a special emphasis on ensuring the independence of the judicial system, which, according to her, is the guarantor and precondition for the fair implementation of justice and the rule of law.

“Without guaranteeing the independence of judges, it is impossible to ensure justice,” Tadevosyan said.

She also stated that changes in the judicial system will bring about a set of challenges requiring a systematic approach, but this should not become an obstacle to the implementation of reforms.

Lilit Tadevosyan was born in 1978. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University. She has 22 years of experience, of which 8 years as a judge. She is married and has two children. -0-
