More than four hundred Armenian citizens are currently in Egypt, according to the press-secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan.

"In addition to holidaymakers, there are more than four hundred of our citizens. We do not have exact data on the number of tourists," he said. No information on incidents involving the citizens of Armenia in Egypt has been reported.

On Wednesday, Egypt's army ousted president Mohammed Mursi from power, suspending temporarily the constitution and asked the head of the Constitutional Court Adly Mansour to serve as a transitional head of state.
