Pashinyan denies Russian foreign minister’s statement
YEREVAN, December 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan denied today a statement made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

In a December 17 interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda daily Lavrov said Moscow and Yerevan were preparing an agreement that would guarantee the absence of foreign military in the biological laboratories donated to Armenia by the United States.

Pashinyan said this issue had been discussed by the country’s previous authorities. He said his government did not discuss this issue with Russian partners. ‘We need to ask Lavrov what he meant," Pashinyan told reporters on Wednesday.

Five such labs donated to Armenia are used to enhance food safety and other sanitary controls on its territory. Earlier this year, Pashinyan’s administration allowed Russian specialists to inspect them after Moscow’s claims that US specialists were running a clandestine biological weapons lab in neighboring Georgia. -0-
