Relations with Georgia very important to Armenia - expert

Sergey Minasyan, the chief of the Caucasus Institute’s division in charge of political studies, speaking today at a news conference pointed out the necessity of strengthening relations between Armenia and Georgia.

YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. Sergey Minasyan, the chief of the Caucasus Institute’s division in charge of political studies, speaking today at a news conference pointed out the necessity of strengthening relations between Armenia and Georgia.
“Our country needs cooperation with Georgia because of its geopolitical situation and Georgia needs cooperation with Armenia, since the latter is a strategic partner to Russia and can contribute to improvement of Russia-Georgia relationship,” he said.
Besides, he said, Armenia’s intention to join the Eurasian Economic Union may create certain difficulties for Georgia, but at the same time, may be an advantageous economic factor for it. -0----
