The social worker institution is underdeveloped in Armenia, minister of labor and social affairs Artem Asatryan said.
YEREVAN, May 15. /ARKA/. The social worker institution is underdeveloped in Armenia, minister of labor and social affairs Artem Asatryan said.
The new remuneration principles to come into effect as from July 1 envisage a substantial increase in social workers’ salaries and will help develop it, he said. All social workers will be paid using the same criteria, Asatryan noted.
According to some sources, the current average salary of social workers is more than $200 in Armenia.
The minister also said this year’s budget provides for funds to reimburse transportation costs to social workers. –0—
