YEREVAN, February 12. /ARKA/. Tashir Group President and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan has become the "Strong Armenia" Party's candidate for prime minister in the 2026 parliamentary elections. This was announced by Tashir Group Vice President and coordinator of the "Mer Dzevov" movement, Narek Karapetyan, at the founding congress of Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia party.

As lawyers noted, according to the law, the constitutional provision that currently prevents Karapetyan from running for prime minister may be amended by parliamentary decision.

The next parliamentary elections will be held in Armenia on June 7, 2026.
