Tensions on line of contact in Artsakh not eased yet

YEREVAN, AUGUST 2, /ARKA/. The situation on the line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops in Artsakh did not change significantly as of 9 am August 2, the Artsakh defense army said in a statement today. It added that the “steady tension” is maintained.
Earlier, the defense army reported that together with the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent the Artsakh leadership was taking measures to de-escalate the tension and prevent further escalations.
On August 1, Azerbaijani troops attempted to cross the line of contact into Artsakh from the northern and north-western directions, but their attempts were thwarted by the defense army countermeasures. One Artsakh soldier was wounded by the Azerbaijani shelling.-0-
