Yerevan to host eighth Nato week in Armenia November 10-14

The 8th "NATO Week" in Armenia will be held November 10-14 in Yerevan in the framework of the NATO’s Individual Partnership Action Plan with Armenia, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
YEREVAN, November 7. / ARKA /. The 8th "NATO Week" in Armenia will be held November 10-14 in Yerevan in the framework of the NATO’s Individual Partnership Action Plan with Armenia, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
It said the list of events includes a visit to the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, TV Bridges with the Armenian peacekeepers in Kosovo and Afghanistan, who will be greeted by representatives of the MFA, MoD, the US, UK and German ambassadors as well as family members.
The list includes also a visit to Armenian Peacekeeping Brigade, a visit to Yerevan State University for a meeting with students and lecturers, followed by Q&A session. The opening remarks will be made by representative of MFA, UK and US ambassador to Armenia.
There will be also roundtable discussion on “NATO’s Interoperability Platform Initiative” co-organized by the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a workshop on UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, organized by the UK embassy in Yerevan in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Armenia and NATO are currently cooperating under the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) signed in December 2005.
Armenia's participation in IPAP envisages periodic consultations with NATO on regional security issues, the development of Armenia’s military doctrine, improvement of defense budget planning and other issues. Armenia also participates in NATO peacekeeping missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan.-0-
