YEREVAN, July 22. /ARKA/. All health resorts in Armenia should be controlled by the State, considers Deputy Director of Scientific-Research Institute of Balneology and Physical Medicine of the Armenian Health Ministry Mkrtich Grabski.

“There are many conceptual problems related to the activity of health resorts in Armenia. They need urgent solution on the state level”, he said in the press-conference on Friday.

After privatization of all health resorts in 90s it became difficult to control their activity as they belong to legal entities.

“The problems are related to licensing and certification of health resorts and control over the quality of their work”, said Grabski.

During the last years, the government adopted a number of decisions on this issue, including the development of health resorts in Armenia.

“There are certain programs related to the development of the cities Jermuk, Tsakhkadzor, Arzni and Dilijan. The main problem is whether they provide minimum level of healthcare, have relevant equipment, qualification of personnel and just simple sanitary- hygienic conditions”, he added.

Price policy of health resorts is sometimes not understandable. “They define any prices upon their discretion, though it is well-known that mainly vulnerable population need treatment in sanatoriums”, he said.

He emphasized the importance of right selection of the sanatorium. “Before going to any health resort, people should consult with the doctor”, he said.

It is important also to consult the doctor when the treatment is based on mineral waters.--0--
