Some 300,000 medical examinations were carried out in Armenia over the first six months of this year as part of the health ministry's screening program aimed at prophylaxis of non-contagious diseases, the press office of the ministry reported on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, August 12. /ARKA/. Some 300,000 medical examinations were carried out in Armenia over the first six months of this year as part of the health ministry's screening program aimed at prophylaxis of non-contagious diseases, the press office of the ministry reported on Wednesday.
According to the ministry's press release, 143,000 people aged from 35 to 68 underwent arterial hypertension screening and 93,000 blood glucose test.
Some 19,500 women aged from 30 to 60 underwent Pap test.
The screening program is aimed at early detection of hypertony, diabetes and cervical cancer to lower death rate. ---0----
