YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Finals and unified state exams in Armenia’s schools are scheduled for June 2-17.
Students will take exams on Armenian, Russian, Mathematics and foreign languages on June 2, June 7, June 11 and June 17 respectively, said Manuk Mkrtchyan, director of the Assessment and Testing Center, RA Ministry of Education and Science.
Exam tests are simultaneously being published both in Great Britain and Armenia. Mkrtchyan was quoted as saying: “In mid-May we will start receiving the tests, and we have agreed with relevant bodies on guaranteeing their security and confidentiality.”
The database of the unified state exams on Armenian, foreign languages and mathematics has been developed, he said.
Local school-leavers had had an opportunity to choose the subjects by April 30. According to Mkrtchyan, about 15,000 secondary school students will take an exam on Armenian, 10,000 on mathematics and 10,000 on Russian.
Armenia’s school-leavers first took unified state exam tests in 2006-2007. In 2007-2008, students will take unified state exams on Armenian, mathematics and foreign languages, while next year they are expected to take unified tests on all the subjects. Z. Sh. –0--
