About 12,000 school teachers in Armenia to have their salaries raised from September - Minister

YEREVAN, August 1. /ARKA/. Thousands of school teachers in Armenia teaching physics, chemistry, biology, geography and computer science , as well as teachers of all subjects in rural schools will have their salaries raised starting September this year, Education, Science, Culture and Sports Minister Zhanna Andreasyan said.
'Teachers' salaries will rise by about 25% no matter whether they have passed certification exams or not and those who have successfully passed the voluntary certification exams will have this 25% increase applied to their AMD 200,000 salary," she said in a Facebook post.
Andreasyan stressed that the measure will apply to more than 8,000 teachers. She noted that teachers of all subjects in rural schools with up to one hundred pupils, if they objectively have a load of less than one rate, will receive additional payment.
"If a teacher teaches a science subject in a small rural school, he or she will take advantage of both programs. More than 4,000 teachers will benefit from this program," the minister said. ($1 - AMD 386.14) --0--.
