All schools in Yerevan to become inclusive by 2025

Inclusive education will become available in all the schools of Yerevan by 2025, Gayane Soghomonyan, chief of the Yerevan municipality’s division in charge of general education, said on Wednesday at a news conference.
YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. Inclusive education will become available in all the schools of Yerevan by 2025, Gayane Soghomonyan, chief of the Yerevan municipality’s division in charge of general education, said on Wednesday at a news conference.
She said six schools in Yerevan will start providing inclusive education this academic year.
“In this context, training of psychologists, speech pathologists and other specialists whose professionalism can change many things is very important,” she said.
Soghomonyan said all children have equal rights for education, and these schools’ specialists are ready to discuss any problem with children’s parents.
There are 8,000 disabled kids in Armenia. Some 2,700 children attend 139 inclusive schools in Armenia this year.
