Anti-Corruption Court did not grant prosecutors' motion for arrest of General Khachaturov

Armenia's Anti-Corruption Court declined today to grant prosecutors' motion for the arrest of General Grigory Khachaturov, the latter's lawyer said.

YEREVAN, February 21. /ARKA/. Armenia's Anti-Corruption Court declined today to grant prosecutors' motion for the arrest of General Grigory Khachaturov, the latter's lawyer said.
Khachaturov, who served as commander of a military unit from 2006 to 2010, is charged with legalization of property acquired by criminal means (money laundering) on a particularly large scale through abuse of official position.
According to prosecutors, the charges are based on evidence obtained by the Investigative Department of the National Security Service.
According to media stories, Khachaturov is implicated in a criminal case against former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, who is head of the opposition Hayastan faction in parliament. Seyran Ohanyan is accused of embezzlement on a large scale and abuse of official duties. --0--
