Armenia negotiating joint production of Sputnik V with Russia - minister

YEREVAN, April 12. /ARKA/. Armenian government is considering the possibility of launching a joint production of the Sputnik V vaccine against Covid-19 with Russia, Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan said at a press conference on Monday.
Earlier reports in the Armenian mass media claimed that Russia offered Armenia to launch a joint production of the Sputnik V vaccine in Armenia, but Armenia refused on grounds that it did not have enough capacities.
“Armenia did not refuse anything, our colleagues from the Ministry of Economy are negotiating the possible start of production of vaccines in our country,” Avanesyan said. She noted that this suggests having professional, industrial and other infrastructures.
“I hope that our pharmaceutical companies will be interested in making investments and launching joint production of the Russian vaccine,” Avanesyan said. -0-
