YEREVAN, May 12. /ARKA/. Armenia has received 14,000 dozes of the second component of the Russian Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.

“Armenia has received a batch of 14,000 dozes of the second component of Sputnik V vaccine. The first batch of this vaccine has already been distributed among primary health care institutions and citizens from risk groups are being vaccinated,” the ministry said.

The ministry said also in order to stabilize the situation with COVID-19 in the country, the vaccination process continues, as well as the purchase and import of new batches of vaccines.

The ministry recalled that Sputnik V vaccines are intended for people at risk: medical workers aged 18 to 54, chronic patients aged 18 to 54, residents of social care centers aged 18 to 54, while the AstraZeneca vaccination can be given to people over 18 on a voluntary basis.

Vaccination is free of charge in clinics on all days of the week. There are also mobile vaccination points deployed in public places in Yerevan - on Northern Avenue, in the shopping centers Dalma Garden Mall and Megamall, also in Gyumri on Vardanants Square, in Vanadzor on Hayk Square and in Dilijan next to the mayor's office.

Foreign citizens living in Armenia can also be vaccinated. Armenia's death toll from Covid-19 has reached 4,272. -0-
