Armenian law on surrogate maternity amended

The Armenian National Assembly gave its final approval to amendments to the law on reproductive health and reproductive right.
YEREVAN, September 29. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly gave its final approval to amendments to the law on reproductive health and reproductive right.
The amendments apply to surrogate maternity.
Sergey Khachatryan, deputy health minister, said 30 to 40 people resort to surrogate mothers’ services every year.
“The amended law states that a surrogate mother has no rights for a baby and that single foreigners can’t have surrogate mothers in Armenia,” he said.
It is also stipulated by the amendments that one woman can be surrogate mother only twice. --0---
