Armenian lawmakers may gather for extraordinary session

The Armenian government decided Thursday at its regular meeting to propose the National Assembly to convene an extraordinary session to discuss some urgent legislative changes before taking their New Year recess. The session is expected to be held on December 12 at 11:00 a.m.

The Armenian government decided Thursday at its regular meeting to propose the National Assembly to convene an extraordinary session to discuss some urgent legislative changes before taking their New Year recess. The session is expected to be held on December 12 at 11:00 a.m.
Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan said the ministry has submitted five urgent bills, which are waiting for lawmakers' approval.
"Four of these bills are connected with the 2019 budget performance and the necessity to attract outside sources of financing the budget deficit, particularly for receiving $152 million from there donors the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and KfW as budget support loan," Janjughazyan said.
He said that after the parliament's approval the financial resources will be received before the end of this year.
As other legislative initiatives that will be put on the National Assembly's floor, Janjughazyan pointed out bills related to sports, defense, territorial administration and the police. -0---
