Armenian police warn 92 citizens for breaching state of emergency requirements

Armenian police officers have warned today morning 92 citizens that they have breached the toughened state of emergency, Deputy Chief of Police Hayk Mhryan told a news conference.

YEREVAN, March 25. /ARKA/. Armenian police officers have warned today morning 92 citizens that they have breached the toughened state of emergency, Deputy Chief of Police Hayk Mhryan told a news conference.
In order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus the government imposed new restrictions on the movement of citizens and banned certain types of economic activity that will be effective until March 31.
Mhryan said so far the police are conducting only preventive measures, explaining to citizens that they need to have Ids and filled out forms indicating his movements and the hours. He said, however, that starting 16:00 the measures will be tightened and full control will be carried out in accordance with the established regime.
On March 24, a new decision was issued by the task force restricting movement of people within the territory of the Republic of Armenia which entered into force starting March 24, 23:59.
According to the aforementioned decree, for going outside one needs to have an ID as well as a filled out Document for Permitted Movement, which can be downloaded here. The document does not necessarily have to be printed, but can be handwritten on a blank paper and signed.
Mheryan said in the morning the police had already warned 92 people who had violated the requirement that no more than two people must drive in a car . According to him, sanctions were applied against two vehicles.
As for public transport, he said drivers warned against taking more passengers than the number of seats.
He urged citizens to comply with the recommendations of the government task force set up to coordinate the efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus during the 30-day state of emergency declared on March 16. He said the only exception are employees of organizations engaged in economic activities permitted by the decision of the government, employees of government agencies, medics and the media.
On March 25 morning 265 cases of coronavirus were confiremd in Armenia, 16 people recovered and no fatalities have been reported. –0--
