YEREVAN, April 8. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Wednesday that the current trend gives grounds for thinking that the peak of COVID 19 in the country can perhaps be considered passed.
As of April 8, there are 881 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia, 114 cured patients and nine deaths
"In general, cautious optimism remains. If such statistics continue, it will mean that we have overcome the peak of the coronavirus, and it came on March 31," Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.
He explained that only 28 of the 311 tests performed today showed positive result.
"As many as 27 recovered patients were let out of hospitals. The total number of patients treated is 114, 758 people are in hospitals and 90% of patients do not even have a fever," he said.
The Armenian government has declared a state of emergency in the country from March 16 to April 14 in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. Movement restrictions are among the measures taken to curb the spread of the virus. Restrictions are also imposed on some kinds of economic activities. -0---
