YEREVAN, September 17. /ARKA/. The Armenian Defense Ministry said today it has sufficient funds and resources to provide food, clothing and other necessary items to the military, and there is no need now for organization of various campaigns and events to that end,

"The Defense Ministry highly appreciates the concern of our citizens and readiness to provide all possible assistance to the army," the ministry said in a statement.

'Nevertheless, if there is a great desire to support the army in any format, the process must be organized and implemented in close cooperation with the Ministry of Defense,' it said. 

"Uncoordinated actions could lead to waste or abuse of time and material resources without producing the desired result," according to the statement.

The officials in charge of coordinating the said issues are the aides to Defense Minister; tel: 091 91 11 23; 044 35 54 34.

Around midnight on September 13, the armed forces of Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack in the southern and southeastern directions of the Republic of Armenia, encroaching on the territorial integrity of Armenia.

The aggression was carried out with the use of artillery, mortars and UAVs, including not only in the Armenia-Azerbaijan bordering area, but also in the areas of Sotk, Vardenis, Goris, Kapan, Artanish and Ishkhanasar settlements and their civilian infrastructure of Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor and Syunik regions.

On September 14, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to cease fire on the border as of 8 p.m. Secretary of Armenia’s Security Council Armen Grigoryan said in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia. that the ceasefire was brokered by Armenia's international partners. According to Prime Minister Pashinyan, 135 Armenian soldiers were killed in clashes with Azerbaijani troops. Azerbaijan said it lost 71 soldiers.-0-
