Drug smuggling attempt foiled in Armenia

Officers at the Armenian Stet Revenue Committee's division in charge of struggle against smuggling and the police department's division in charge of struggle against drug trafficking and organized crime, examined Tuesday a vehicle from Georgia with its driver and passenger at Bagratashen border checkpoint and found 7.5 kilograms of drugs hidden from customs control.

Officers at the Armenian Stet Revenue Committee's division in charge of struggle against smuggling and the police department's division in charge of struggle against drug trafficking and organized crime, examined Tuesday a vehicle from Georgia with its driver and passenger at Bagratashen border checkpoint and found 7.5 kilograms of drugs hidden from customs control.
In addition, 7 grams of yellow-green substance, looking like marihuana, were found in a pocket of the passenger, who is Armenian citizen.
The citizen was taken to the investigative division of the State Revenue Committee, and the car was given to the customs service. -0--
