YEREVAN, March 29. /ARKA/. The first family sports compound worth $2 million will open in the town of Masis in 2018 summer. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on March 28. It was followed by the official opening of the local Youth Center, SPRING PR reported.
The projects are implemented through the funds provided by the Adibekian Family Foundation for Advancement (AFFA). The sport compound will have fields for mini-football and basketball, an outdoors site equipped with sport apparatus, as well as a play-ground for children. It will have also special equipment designed for people with disabilities.
The compound will become the first family, social, sport and leisure center in Masis. It is intended to develop social, cultural, and economic life of the town and will bring together representatives of all generations.
"Our goal is not just to build a sports compound, but to create a platform that will unite the residents of Masis of different ages. We want this space to become the main meeting place in the city where people would walk, play sports, talk and discuss new initiatives that will make life in Masis better and happier," said Gagik Adibekyan, founder of Adibekyan Family Foundation for Advancement.
As for the Youth Center, its mission is to widen local young people’s horizon and help reveal their talents. The Center has three main areas of activities: educational, volunteering, and social programs. Currently over 120 children and teenagers of Masis are attending the Youth Center. -0-
