YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. Fishes from Armenia’s Lake Sevan were on sale in Yerevan’s streets on New Year and Christmas holidays despite of prohibition, Aravot reported on Thursday.
The prohibition, which is in force from December 20, 2018 till January 20, 2019, is aimed at protection of fish breeding in the lake.
Vahe Goloyan, the head of Sevan National Park, said struggle against poachers is hobbled by the poverty in which people live.
In his words, this is a difficult issue, and the authorities are doing whatever they can in combating poaching. -0---
