Pashinyan: All property stolen from the people and the state will be returned piece by piece

YEREVAN, 20 January. /ARKA/. The system of returning the property privatised illegally and acquired with corruption funds has already been introduced and is successfully working in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

He emphasised that this system deals with the phenomena that took place both before and after 2018, when there was a change of power in the country.

‘This is what gives value to the system, because the return of illegal property concerns not a specific period, but a specific phenomenon - property taken away from the people, property stolen from the state and illegally acquired property must be returned to the state, i.e. to the people. And today I want to state that this system is in place. [...] This system will return all the property stolen from the people bit by bit,’ he said on his FB page.

As Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galian noted at the end of last year, Armenia managed to return illegally acquired property worth 5 billion drams in a short period of time.

According to her, about 120 criminal cases related to the return of property, money and shares in legal entities are pending in courts. There are also judicial acts that have not yet entered into force and are under appeal. The total amount of monetary claims in such cases exceeds 2 billion drams. ($1 - 398.94 drams)
