YEREVAN, February 22. /ARKA/. The Armenian Prosecutor General's Office said the director of Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan has been detained.

An explosion at a fireworks warehouse at the shopping center on August 14, 2022 killed 16 people, including a pregnant woman and a child and injured another 63. One person is still being unaccounted for as.

"The director of Surmalu shopping center Irina Madatova has been detained," the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told Arka news agency.

Earlier it was reported that four people were charged in the criminal investigation into the explosion in the shopping center.
