Head of Yerevan Conservatory branch in Gyumri accused of embezzling more than 370 million drams

YEREVAN, October 17. /ARKA/. The head of Yerevan Conservatory branch in Gyumri is accused of fraud and embezzlement of a large amount, the Investigative Committee of Armenia reported.

It said the 69-year-old also served in 2012-2018 as president of the Revival international competition and head of the Improritm NGO.

She, in particular, signed an agreement concluded between the Gyumri branch of Yerevan Conservatory and the Revival NGO, whereby the NGO was to prepare cultural events and the conservatory was to pay for it.

In 2012-2018, the head of the branch transferred almost 345.7 million drams to the NGO. After that, she cashed the money and embezzled it.

In 2015, she embezzled about 2 million 681 thousand drams out of 5 million drams allocated by the Gyumri Municipality and the Ministry of Culture of Armenia for the organization of the Revival competition by forging documents.

Besides, with the help of her deputy in the Revival NGO, she embezzled about AMD 23 million allocated to the organization from the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries.

In another episode, the accused embezzled large sums that were previously provided by 80 persons, who wanted to participate in a competition in the USA.

Charges are also brought against her deputy in the NGO Revival, who is accused of forging documents. ($1 - AMD 401.22). --0--
