Individual targeted assistance should be set for Nagorno-Karabakh refugees - Head of Mantashyants Entrepreneurs Association (video)

YEREVAN, October 11. /ARKA/. In an exclusive interview with ARKA Business program broadcast on ARKA news agency’s YouTube channel, Vahram Mirakyan, co-founder and head of the Mantashyants Entrepreneurs Association, said individualized assistance should be provided to every citizen forcibly displaced from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
"In the long term, it is necessary to create a 2-5 year long integration plan to integrate the refugees as much as possible based on their interests and previous occupation,’ he said.
‘We need to record all the data that we have on displaced people, and then fix what we can provide to them. And based on this approach to assist each person, each family, so that they can get back on their feet as soon as possible," he said.
Mirakyan noted that not general support is important, but targeted support based on the needs and capabilities of each person and family.
On September 19, Azerbaijan launched what it called an "anti-terrorist" operation against ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Artsakh.
The assault lasted 24 hours and ended with Azerbaijani forces gaining full control of the region for the first time since the 1990s war.
This led to a vast refugee crisis, with more than 100,000 ethnic Armenians fleeing the region to the Republic of Armenia. -0-
