In January-November 2024, 23,391 people died in Armenia, a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

YEREVAN, January 13. /ARKA/. In January-November 2024, 23,391 people died in Armenia, a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

More than half of the deaths (53.2% or 12,449 people) were due to circulatory system diseases, a 5.6% increase from the previous year. Neoplasms were the second leading cause of death, accounting for 20.7% (4,836 people), up by 3.5%.

Other causes included respiratory diseases (9.3% or 2,168 people, up 14.3%), digestive system diseases (5.2% or 1,212 people, up 11.4%), external causes (4.1% or 962 people, down 3.4%), endocrine system diseases (1.7% or 395 people, down 1.7%), and infectious diseases (1% or 227 people, up 76%).
