YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. Nearly 100 public servants eligible for the social package in Armenia have had expensive surgeries including heart surgeries, chairman of Civil Service Council Manvel Badalyan said Tuesday.
In 2012 January the Armenian government introduced a package of social benefits for public and civil servants, which includes mandatory health insurance.
“Armenia’s civil servants welcomed the roll-out of the social package. They can enjoy medical services worth of about 3 million 800 thousand drams just for 52,000 drams earmarked by the State for each servant,” Badalyan said in a statement.
The basic amount of social package is not big, however, its roll-out has already showed good results in both medical and vacation rest aspects.
The size of monthly payments under the compulsory health insurance scheme for civil and public servants is 52 thousand drams. The total amount of the benefit for a social or public servant financed by the government is 132,000 drams. About 120,000 social and public servants are eligible to this subsidy.
