YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. There were no new cases of metapneumovirus in December 2024, and no infections have been recorded in Armenia in 2025, stated Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan.

She emphasized that the operational management group monitors the situation in both the region and the country on a daily basis.

"Overall, at the moment, the situation regarding acute respiratory viral infections, coronavirus, and influenza is under control, and there are no issues. However, we must understand that there is still a risk of increased seasonal activity, and we need to respond cautiously to all matters," the minister added.

It was previously reported that China is experiencing a new outbreak of the virus. The National Administration for Disease Control and Prevention reported the spread of human metapneumovirus, which most commonly affects children under the age of 14.
