Number of tourists visiting Armenia in 2024 decreased by 4.7% to 2.2 million people

The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in 2024 was 2,208,179, compared to 2,316,210 in 2023, showing a decrease of 4.7%. This was reported by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

YEREVAN, February 5. /ARKA/. The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in 2024 was 2,208,179, compared to 2,316,210 in 2023, showing a decrease of 4.7%. This was reported by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

Of the tourists who visited Armenia last year, 969,934 were women, and 1,238,245 were men. The largest group of travelers was aged 36-63 (1,109,641 people), while the smallest group was aged 16-17 (30,745 people).

The largest number of tourists to Armenia came from Russia (937,823 people, or 42.5% of the total, a decrease of 17.5% compared to 2023), Georgia (266,048 people, or 12.1%, an increase of 5.3%), and Iran (176,453 people, or 8%, an increase of 18%).

Additionally, Armenia was visited by citizens from the United States (58,965), India (43,672), China (32,823), France (30,194), Germany (28,717), Ukraine (28,238), the Philippines (24,755), Belarus (16,963), Italy (15,968), the Netherlands (14,350), the Republic of Korea (13,966), Turkey (12,652), the United Kingdom (11,793), Poland (11,241), and Kazakhstan (10,236).

The smallest number of tourists—just one person each—came from Barbados, Botswana, Gabon, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, the Marshall Islands, Niger, and Samoa. Two people each arrived from Cape Verde, Congo, Mozambique, and Djibouti. Three people came from the Bahamas, Belize, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Somalia, and Togo.

During the reporting period, 35 citizens from the "Unknown Country" category visited Armenia, which represents a 0.9% increase compared to 2023.

At the same time, the report notes that 1,679,240 tourists left Armenia in 2024, compared to 1,550,427 in 2023.
