Passenger on Dubai-Yerevan flight found guilty of smuggling diamonds weighing 72 grams and gold jewellery

YEREVAN, 3 October. /ARKA/. Armenian customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle 72 grams of diamonds and gold jewellery with precious stones into the country.
According to the State Customs Committee of Armenia, a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, who arrived by Dubai-Yerevan flight, was subjected to inspection in the customs control zone at Zvartnots airport the other day.
In his luggage the customs officers found 4 polyethylene bags with diamonds weighing 72 grams, as well as certificates and electronic carriers of certificates, 6 invoices, 16 price tags for diamonds, emeralds, amethysts, pearls, sapphires, materials for jewellery processing. In the pocket of his trousers 21 gold jewellery - bracelets, necklaces and rings - were also found.
An appropriate protocol was drawn up on this fact and sent to the Investigative Committee. -0-
