Police detain six citizens on charges of possessing and using narcotics

YEREVAN, July 20. /ARKA/ The Armenian Police announced the completion of a successful operation that was designed to detain a group of persons involved in possession and use of drugs.
According to the press service of the Police, the Criminal Police Department received information about a drug sale scheme. The information was conveyed to the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Police branch in Erebuni administrative district in the capital Yerevan.
On July 15, during a special operation six men were detained in different parts of Yerevan on suspicion of illegal possession and use of drugs.
According to the Police, the detained persons had methamphetamine and marijuana. Later it emerged that one of the detainees was on the wanted list.
Later, a 32-year-old man was tracked down, detained and searched. According to law enforcement officers, he sold drugs to the indicated six citizens. Marijuana was also found on him. During a search at his place of residence, police officers found drugs, acetic anhydride, a Makarov pistol and F-1 grenades with fuses.
A suspect or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to a court ruling that has entered into legal force, in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia. --0--
