Price for water and sewage services to grow in Armenia to 200.47 drams from January 1, 2022

YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has set today new prices for water supply and sewage services provided by Veolia Jur cjsc, a subsidiary of the French Veolia Generale des Eaux, which manages Armenia’s water distribution network.
The PSRC press service reported that the tariff will remain unchanged for about 100,000 low-income households (180 drams per one cubic meter), who already enjoy electricity and natural gas price discounts.
The price for other categories will be raised to the fixed 200.47 drams that will not change over the next 10 years. The new tariffs will take effect on January 1, 2022.
In September Veolia Jur had requested PSRC’s permission to raise the price of a cubic meter of drinking water to almost 224 drams from the current price of 180 drams, citing higher-than-expected inflation and the increased cost of electricity.
On January 1, 2017, Veolia Jur took over the management of all Armenian water distribution networks. The company won an international tender announced by World Bank to take up a long-term management of the Yerevan network in 2006. It pledged to upgrade the obsolete network and ensure 24-hour water supplies to households. -0-
