Some highways in Armenia are hardly passable, Selim mountain pass is closed due to the snowfall, Emergency Situations Ministry reports Wednesday.

YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. Some highways in Armenia are hardly passable, Selim mountain pass is closed due to the snowfall, Emergency Situations Ministry reports Wednesday.
“As of 10:45, the following highways are closed: Selim mountain pass, Tsakhkadzro-Alagyaz, Meghradzor-Hankavan, Eghvard-Aragyuz-Artavan. Due to the blizzard the following highways are hardly passable: Talin-Gyumri, Artik-Mantash-Aragats, Kuchak-Aparan-Spitak, Ashotsk-Amasia, Gavar-Martuni-Vardenis, Zanger segment on Yerevan-Meghri road,” the source states.
It said to ensure safe traffic on all roads intensive round the clock snow cleaning work is underway. Roads are also processed with salt and sand to accelerate snow melting.
Georgian officials said, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed. -0-
