YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Three Russian air companies - NordStar, Ural Airlines and AZUR Air - have requested admission from the Federal Air Transport Agency for the right to fly to Armenia, Interfax reported Tuesday with reference to Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency.
It is noted that for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced a meeting of the transport ministry’s interdepartmental commission, which provides permits for flights abroad.
According to the published information, Russian carriers want to get the right to fly not only to countries that are open by the government, but also to have admissions to those countries that are still closed.
The distant meeting of the commission is scheduled for September 17.
Armenia Opens its Sky
Earlier, the Armenian Civil Aviation Committee announced the resumption of regular flights from Armenia and to Armenia from September 11. It was noted that decisions on the resumption of flights, their frequency and directions are taken by these airlines. The committee noted that information about these airlines is available here.
In Armenia, from September 11 to January 11, 2021, a quarantine was established, which replaced the state of emergency, which was in effect for 6 months (from March 16 to September 11, 2020). According to the statutory order, a citizen, traveling to the territory of the Republic of Armenia, who has no symptoms and is not hospitalized, can either resort to a 14-day self-isolation or undergo a PCR test during self-isolation and leave self-isolation in the event of a negative test result.

Regular flights to Cairo, Dubai and the Maldives also resumed in September. --0—
