YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. Residents of Armenia’s warm areas will enjoy summer also in September, while those of mountainous terrains will face autumn soon, the country’s emergency ministry reports at its website referring to the weather forecast service.

The average temperature in Armenia is expected to stand at 13 above in September.

Heat may reach 35 or even 40 in Ararat Valley and in south-eastern areas, 33-38 in foothills and 30-31 in mountainous parts of the country. The temperature will be around 9 below in Ashotsk of Shirak province and 4 above in Berd, Tavush province.

According to the report, first frost is thought to touch mountainous areas in late September, but in some years, for example 1997, it came earlier, at the first half of September.

September has always been the best month in Yerevan. This September’s fist ten days will be warmed with 22-23 above. About 20 will be recorded in the second ten days and 18 in the third ten days.

The average precipitation level will be 33 mm in Ararat Valley, 6 to 10 mm in Vayots Dzor and the valleys of Syunik, 50 to 60mm in Lori province and 60 to 65 in Syunik foothills.

Yerevan faced no rain in September in the last 12 years, but in 1932 the level reached 86 mm, exceeding the norm nine times. ---0----
