Two people died from Covid-19 in Armenia over past 24 hours

With 157 new Covid cases reported in the last 24 hours, Armenia  has recorded the lowest single day case spike in recent days as of  January 11 morning, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an affiliation of the Health Ministry.

YEREVAN, January 11. /ARKA/. With 157 new Covid cases reported in the last 24 hours, Armenia has recorded the lowest single day case spike in recent days as of January 11 morning, according to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, an affiliation of the Health Ministry.

It said thus far the country's health officials have recorded as many as 162,288 confirmed cases of coronavirus since March 1, 20202, when the first case was detected.

Two people have died from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, taking the total tally to 2,931. Some 516 patients have recovered. Overall, 1,025 people have tested for the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

In total, 609,930 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country of 3 million, 149,873 patients have recovered and another 8,782 patients are being currently treated in hospitals and their homes.

On September 11, 2020 the Armenian government replaced the state of emergency, declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus, with nationwide quarantine regime that will be in force until January 11, 2021.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health Alina Nikoghosyan indicated last Wednesday that the government is likely to extend the quarantine for another six months. -0-
