The municipality said its employees had recorded nine instances of dumping household and construction debris in unauthorized places last week. It said the offenders will be punished according to the law.
Mayor Taron Margaryan was quoted as saying that the municipality will be very strict in punishing all those who will break the law.
"Today, there is a serious problem regarding the dumping of construction debris in unauthorized places. Everyone knows that there is a corresponding landfill for construction debris in Silikyan quarter. We must establish strict control in places where construction debris is being accumulated. I expect support from the Yerevan police, "Margaryan said.
He said Yerevan residents should be aware that they will be punished for the discharge of garbage in unauthorized places. -0-
