Zvartnots airport foils attempt to ship 1.5 kg of methamphetamine to Australia (VIDEO)

YEREVAN, June 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC0 said customs officers prevented an attempt to send a parcel with 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine to Australia.
It said the officers of a unit of the Anti-Smuggling Department at Zvartnots airport checked the parcel that was to be sent to Australia by international courier service finding two books with covers filled with methamphetamine with a total weight of 1.5 kg.
The sender was an Iranian citizen identified by his initials E. B. He was detained and taken to the Armenian Investigative Committee.
A criminal case on smuggling narcotics and psychotropic substances was filed. Investigative measures to identify all the persons involved in drug trafficking are underway, the SRC said.-0-
