Armenia and Iran discuss increasing tourist flows and cooperation in tourism

On Monday, Gevorg Papoyan, the Armenian Minister of Economy, and Anoushirvan Bandpei, the Deputy Minister for Tourism at Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, explored potential collaboration in tourism and ways to increase tourist numbers.
YEREVAN, December 8. /ARKA/. On Monday, Gevorg Papoyan, the Armenian Minister of Economy, and Anoushirvan Bandpei, the Deputy Minister for Tourism at Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, explored potential collaboration in tourism and ways to increase tourist numbers.
"Armenia and Iran share a long history of friendship, and our tourism cooperation, particularly in recent years, has shown consistent growth. In 2024, around 179,000 Iranian tourists visited Armenia, and from January to November 2025, we have already noted 166,000 visits," Papoyan stated, as reported by the Ministry of Economy's press service.
They also shared insights on various other matters aimed at advancing the industry.-0-
