Armenia remains in the top 10 countries that Russians visited the most in 2024

YEREVAN, February 5. /ARKA/. Armenia ranked 9th in the top 10 most popular foreign countries for Russians in 2024.
As reported by РБК based on statistics from the Russian Federal Security Service, 970,000 visits to Armenia by Russian citizens were recorded last year. At the same time, the decline in this figure for Armenia—12.5%—was the largest among the countries in the top 10.
Turkey topped the list with 6.27 million visits from Russians (a 11.7% increase), followed by Abkhazia with 5.81 million visits (a 1.1% increase), Kazakhstan with 2.81 million visits (a 4.4% decrease), the UAE with 1.99 million visits (a 15.6% increase), China with 1.9 million visits (a 96.5% increase), Egypt with 1.48 million visits (a 15.3% increase), Georgia with 1.35 million visits (a 21.5% increase), and Thailand with 1.32 million visits (a 24.5% increase). Azerbaijan rounds out the top 10 with 710,000 visits (a 26.8% increase).
In total, Russians made nearly 29.2 million trips abroad in 2024, including for business, work, tourism, private visits, education, moving for permanent residence, as well as trips by personnel servicing vehicles and military personnel. This marks a 7.8% increase from 2023, when Russian citizens traveled abroad approximately 27.1 million times.
