The memorandum was signed as part of a visit of 60 Egyptian tour operators to Armenia lasting from December 30 of last year till January 6, 2022.

According to the chairman of the Armenian Tourism Federation Mehak Apresyan, the memorandum is expected to strengthen and bring Armenian-Egyptian cooperation in the sphere of tourism to a new level.

"The signing of the memorandum will help us establish business contacts. We will do our best to worthily present Egypt as a tourist country in Armenia. According to the memorandum, the other party will take the same steps in terms of Armenia," Apresyan said.

The Egyptian tour operators, representatives of the Armenian Tourism Federation, Armenian-Egyptian Business Association and International Business Relations Support Council discussed with the Tourism Committee of Armenia the possibilities of activating the cooperation. The business community stressed the importance of easing visa procedures for Egyptian citizens entering Armenia.

Mariam Manukyan, chairwoman of the International Business Relations Support Council, attached importance to the development of outbound tourism. She noted that during the talks an agreement was reached to facilitate the entry of Egyptian citizens into Armenia.
