Armenia to host EURHODIP conference

On October 13-16 Armenia’s capital city Yerevan will be hosting the 23rd conference of the Association of Schools of Hospitality and Catering in Europe (EURHODIP). The title of the conference is: Tourism education: moving to new destinations.
YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. On October 13-16 Armenia’s capital city Yerevan will be hosting the 23rd conference of the Association of Schools of Hospitality and Catering in Europe (EURHODIP). The title of the conference is: Tourism education: moving to new destinations.
Robert Minasyan, the rector of the Armenian Institute of Tourism, who is also a EURHODIP board member, told a news conference that 40 delegates from 20 countries will gather in Yerevan to discuss tourism education issues at this major forum, conducted in Armenia for the first time.
"Educating and training skilled personnel is important for development of tourism industry. Today in this area there is a need to develop new approaches so that we can prepare high-quality personnel," - Minasyan said.
"We should understand that tourism is not just visiting a country, it can provide a significant support to the development of the economy and various industries and create new jobs," - said Minasyan.
The conference will be attended by representatives of EURHODIP, the World Tourism Organization, tourism industry experts from Armenia, France, Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, Russia, Great Britain, Iran, Turkey, Italy, Portugal and other countries.
EURHODIP was founded in 1989. It includes now more than 150 higher and secondary special educational institutions from many European countries.-0-
