French department will help develop hiking tourism in Gegharkunik region of Armenia

YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. A new cooperation agreement for 2023-2027 was signed between the administration of the Armenian province of Gegharkunik and the French Department of Isère, (in southeastern region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes).
The document was signed by Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan and Jean-Pierre Barbier, chairman of the Department of Isère.
The agreement envisages implementation of programs in tourism and healthcare sectors, deepening the knowledge of the French language in the region, the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said
The French delegation met with Minister Gnel Sanosyan, who was said to stress the importance of decentralized cooperation between Isère and Gegharkunik.
In his turn, Pierre Barbier assured that the French side is ready to strengthen the existing partnership, covering new spheres. According to him, it is necessary to implement joint programs as soon as possible. --0—
